Our Drum Session

The drum lesson was great but my hands were aching by the end of it. We got to play on these bongos and some were big, some were small. Each drum had a beautiful design to them and it was hard not to look away.

Dave, our instructor was really cool. He gave us these cool rhythms and rhymes to sing when we were playing and it helped when trying to keep the beat. My favourite one was "catch the fish, lets go catch the fish".

Whenever we played the djmebe (the african drums), the whole room would be filled with the sound of our hands banging on the drums. I bet you could hear our drum playing all the way in the other building!

Overall, it was a fun experience.
